When we see you for an emergency appointment we will need to gather some information about you so that we can provide the most appropriate care. As well as contact details we’ll ask you to fill in a medical history form. We may take photographs of your teeth and x-rays and look at the rest of your mouth to check there is nothing else that may be involved with your problem. All this takes time and you should expect to be at the practice for up to two hours.
At the end of your appointment we will advise you what action you should take next. If, for example, you are on holiday we will prepare a letter for your own dentist explaining what has been done at the emergency appointment and include copies of any x-rays we may have taken. If you do not have a regular dentist we will invite you to make an appointment for a thorough examination in order to reduce the risk of further dental emergencies arising in the future.
Fees For Emergency Appointments for patients of other practices or patients without regular dentists:
Same Day Emergency Appointment including any treatments necessary to relieve pain and any other temporary treatments provided: £200.00
Emergency Appointment Within 5 Days: £45.00+cost of treatments provided (A full estimate of treatment costs will be given in advance of treatment being carried out)
Patients with non-urgent problems wishing to join the practice who have booked a Full New Patient Examination will generally not be charged extra for investigation of the problem or temporary treatments necessary to allay it.
If you are concerned about changes to the soft tissues of your mouth (lips, cheeks, tongue etc including red or white patches, ulcers that have not healed within 3 weeks, lumps of no obvious cause or changes of texture of the skin inside your mouth) we will be happy to carry out an examination at NO CHARGE.
