Snoring can be an embarrassing and disturbing habit
for sufferers and those around them. Among other symptoms it can lead to a constant feeling of tiredness, headaches, dry mouth
and irritability.
Snoring
can be reduced or eliminated in most people by the use of a removable night time appliance designed to hold the jaw forward
and prevent the tongue dropping backwards during sleep.
We
provide a range of appliances. Most of these can be fitted in the practice at a single visit.
People
with severe snoring disorders (Sleep apnoea) who are being treated by hospital specialists should check with the specialist
before trying this type of treatment.
The
appliances may not be suitable for those without any natural teeth in either of the jaws, those who cannot easily breath through
the nose or patients who suffer from asthma or high blood pressure.
For nearly everyone else anti-snoring appliances can
provide a simple and effective solution to this common but troublesome condition.
