Dental Implants

What are Implants?

Dental implants are artificial roots inserted into the jaw to replace missing teeth securely and comfortably.

Made of surgical-grade titanium these precision appliances can be used with a crown to replace a single tooth or as the support for a bridge to replace more than 1 tooth. They can also be used to tightly secure loose dentures to the gums.

Implants are fixed to the jaws. They restore appearance and allow normal chewing. Unlike conventional bridges joined to natural teeth they do not damage teeth on either side. Teeth secured with implants do not rely on clasps or sticky pastes to hold them in position and so generally provide the most acceptable method of tooth replacement.

If you are interested in having teeth replaced with implants the first step is to come in for an examination. The dentist will then be able to advise if you are suitable for this sort of treatment and explain the various possibilities.
